John Hughes made outsiders cool. Especially in Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink and The Breakfast Club. His '80s love stories had a distinctive style, setting the mold for several other teen angst films to come. He made Molly Ringwald a star and gave us quirky characters like Duckie. Hughes did what many filmmakers often aspire to: create lasting films that can be watched over and over again regardless of generation. 
Here's a tribute to Hughes when he won a producer award featuring several interviews with actors from his films.

...and yet another one leaves us. "The Breakfast Club" is one of my most beloved films of all time. I remember acting out the script for fun in my high school drama club. I still have a copy of the script, in fact. Fun times!
R.I.P. John Hughes. It would've been cool if we saw a modern day sequel with the original cast and Hughes at the helm. At least we all can dream.
That is very sad, I watched the breakfast club online about a week ago. :( ,They are what I remember most about my childhood.

I am still so heart broken, the video for his producer award is awesome. What an outstanding tribute to his memory.
What a tremendous contribution he made. Most filmmakers are fortunate to have one memorable film, but he really influenced an entire decade.
