If things go right Precious will be an Oscar contender later on this year. Other than the fact that the story looks gut-wrenchingly amazing, it stars one of my new favorites: Paula Patton. I remember when I first saw her in Hitch I was like, "she's gonna get big." It's possible that she might get a supporting actress nomination and that would be pretty cool. The film also stars Mariah Carey, Lenny Kravitz and Mo'Nique.

I want to see this movie so bad! Is it limited release or are they going to show it everywhere?
With Tyler Perry and Oprah attaching their names to the movie I'm guessing a wide release.
I've heard ALOT of buzz about this movie and I'm anxious to finally see it. I hope its not all hype and is actually as everyone says it is...(crossing fingers).
It just got a standing ovation at the Cannes Film Film in France so that's a good sign.
I loved this book and I know this movie will be awesome!
