The big night is finally here and I'm tuned in...
Hugh Jackman - oh yeah!
Supporting Actress - Penelope won. It's nice to hear Spanish at the Oscars.
Screenplays - It's awesome how they present these with clips of the writer's words.
Slumdog Millionaire - wins first award for screenplay. Hopefully best picture is on its way.
Jolie and Aniston - umm...can you say awkward.
Lovers in Japan - Coldplay's song was a nice choice for the montage of love stories. Some of my favorite clips were from Seven Pounds, High School Musical 3 and Twilight.
Natalie Portman - She looks stunning in her pink dress.
The Big Music Number - Zac Efron + Beyonce = Very Cool.
Best Documentaries - Great speeches. These categories are always my favorite.
"Jai Ho" - A slice of Bollywood music in Hollywood. Very stellar.
The Academy Awards have come and gone and it was of the best awards shows I've seen in a while. I'm so happy that Kate Winslet and Slumdog Millionaire won. What were your thoughts on this year's Oscars?

yay...i'm not watching so i will live vicariously.
i sorta kinda liked the music medley too
yay for winslet. though i was rooting for hathaway
I was torn between Hathaway and Winslet too. Winslet because she's had some amazing roles that didn't get honored and Hathaway because she was brilliant in Rachel Getting Married. That movie was a breath of fresh air and it would have been nice if Jenny Lumet got a screenplay nod for it but, that's life.
Oh--and Tina Fey should host next years Oscars. Anyone else agree?
I thought Slumdog Millionaire was a great film, so I'm happy it won many awards. Kate winning, is respectable. As for the rest of it, snoozeville. I didn't watch, but didn't need to, all the Monday morning quarterbacking is enough to tell me, I didn't miss much.
The Oscars is all about 'Hollywood' excess and has little to do with talent-although on occasion they get the talent thing right.
The musicals are back numbers was amazinggg..... i loved Hugh Jackman as the host and his performance with HSM lovebirds Zac Efron & Vanessa Hudgen also know as "Zanessa" it was very cute and will done! It wasn't cheesy and some musical numbers can be ! Like the said Musicals are backkkk babyyyy =D
SLUMDOG Millionaire biggest winner of the night so cool !
Kate Winlset finally wins !
I was kinda bummed about Sean Penn winning. Don't get me wrong he is a great actor. I thought that guy for Frost/Nixon would get it for sure... oh well !!
Penelope Cruz had the best speech of the night for me !
Glad that Heath Ledger WON ! It's just bittersweet because he wasn't there for it =(
This was most definitely the best Oscar for me. I could actually watch the the entire thing... it just seemed to follow better . I also loved how they presented the awards with the previous winners. As well as they showcased the screenwriters, cinematography, costume designers/set designers & the other awards that some people just don't care for. It seemed like the were more important than just the talented actors/actresses that were up for the Hollywood's original golden boy .... Oscar !!
I agree with Tina Fey hosting next year!
